Have been with TelstraClear for three years moving from Telecom. The customer service based in the Philipines has been ok, I dont care where they are as long as they answer the phone before I start claiming the pension. Any issues I had were resolved within a few days, this has included technical issues, email etc, heavy rain causing a wiring fault and a faulty modem. Twice I have had no connection because of mistakes by TelstraClear which were fixed but no apology given. These are issues which I would expect a large Telco to manage effectively and on the whole they have, but of course they make you jump through a few hoops first. I find their broadband speed is average and at other times damn slow. What really bugs me about them is the broadband rate I am paying, my 2 year contract ended some time ago and I have had no contact from anyone in the company, they are happy to continue taking my money and I know I can get a better deal elsewhere. Unfortunately for us Kiwis we are stuck with these chronically average performing companies, who keep their customers at arms length unless they are signing them up. Like most I am forced to move between them every few of years to get the best deal which is pretty average value for money and service which is grudgingly applied after being yelled at via email.

VERY long wait times, I called today, over 30 minutes for a basic billing enquiry. I never understood why they sent the call centre to Manila, putting many Kiwis out of work, but thought maybe at least they would take my call, but alas! Its been well over a year since the call centre moved to Manila, and 30 mins wait time today, 45 mins yesterday, hopeless, untenable, hard to understand why as Manila CSRs so much cheaper than NZ based ones, so they should be able to provide more right? WRONG it seems. Anyway, my advice, AVOID them, they have no real interest in customers, they are interested only in the customers money. I have now moved to Telecom.

ok i was a happy telecom customer but decided to go with the $75 package deal after talking to telstras customer support and them assuring me i will have the same speeds etc as telecom, well i can tell you now that is a load of crap!!! i was getting 6.0mb download with telecom, 3.03mb with telstra! also to star with i was told approx 1 to 2 hrs changeover period, after no internet for 6 hours i decided to ring telstra, waited over 35mins for answer to be told it takes around a week! had a b&%ch at them and couldnt get anywhere, 2 hours later it gets turned on and had crappy connection speeds compared to telecom so i ring them back, this time waiting 55mins!!!! blood pressure is rising through the roof at this time and all you can do is shake as your veins are trying to pop out of your skin! i get some absolute monkey working there who doesnt have a damn clue bout anything telling me im not even with them yet and that im still with telecom!! (and i definatly am not!) WTF TELSTRA??? these guys are the biggest clowns i have ever seen in a business who really dont know what they are doing and blame all the problems on your end. sort your s&%T out telstra......

have been with telstra clear for roughly 3 months now, switched because of the "great deal" and "unbeatable prices" YEAH RIGHT! connection is so slow (despite being told it was twice as fast) we always loose connection and have to repeatedly turn the modem off to gain access for a further five minutes before turning off again. took me 45 minutes just to speak to somebody on the phone even at 3pm! the $15 saving after i switched to telstra hardly seems worth all the hassle of loosing connection and poor customer service. plus i have had 1 bill in the mail only instead of 3. this sucks! Slingsgot were alot better than this company, i think they need someone new to run it or they really did put their foot in it and have bitten off way more than they can chew. judging by the high call volume i'd say we are not the only ones with a massive problem.

The new broadband/landline deal being offerred by Telstra is really a rip off. Guess i should have read the small print. They charged $98.99 broadband connection fee and $79.98 new connection fee. The upfront charges are more than the two months free that they give you.
