    Not anymore

    THE GOOD:

The speed is ok and the size of the plans for price is ok. if you can get around shabby modems and shit customer service.

    THE BAD:

I was with Telstraclear until they were bought out by Vodafone. Never had an issue till they were bought by vodafone,my equipment worked fine until they were bought by vodafone. bought a modem from them and the wifi is useless also get charged 4 calls not made

    THE BOTTOM LINE:

I never had an issue whilst I was with Telstraclear, yet when vodafone took over my modem that was under a year old mysteriously couldn't be recognized by my computer any longer. So I got vodafone to send me one at a cost of $150 to me only to find that the wifi that used to work excellent on my previous modem now on the new modem kicks me offline every 5 minutes.. I have rung and emailed only to get told the same thing over and over again... Im over it.. not anymore.....

    REVIEW:

Crap service for good prices is not a fair trade in my books. Im on the 100gb plus home-line for $85.

Billing is always a problem because of so many extra charges.. I will never recommend this provider. ever!!!

Have had better service in third world countries!

    THE GOOD:

I really can't think of anything good to say.

    THE BAD:

Repeated errors with billing (in one case they referred a bill to a debt collection agency when it had actually been paid), repeated outages (that went up to a week of down time), very very long waiting times to speak with customer support.

    THE BOTTOM LINE:

I've lived in a number of countries and overall, I would say that the service I have received from Vodafone is one of the worst I have ever experienced. I originally signed on in order to bundle my mobile with the home accounts, but now have no accounts with Vodafone and would not use (or recommend) this provider in the future.

    REVIEW:

I have used this provider in Christchurch, Hamilton and South Auckland, it really doesn't matter where you live, the customer service is poor.
I had a internet, home phone (Ultimate Pack) with a basic sky bundle at the cost of $148.78 per month.

Reaaly good modem - good payment system

    THE GOOD:

Always works well - love the free wireless modem and setup.
Came from Orcon previously - the monthly discount from Vodafone if you have a mobile phone with them made the deal compelling. Used phone support once pretty easy too.

    THE BAD:

Had to sort out being billed for the modem initially - since the sign-up deal was for free.

    THE BOTTOM LINE:

Yes - would recommend - especially if you have a Voda mobile.
I get the speed I need and it's consistent.

    REVIEW:

I have a Naked broadband plan - 100GB. It's great being able to double that amount for just a bit extra if I need to. Big benefit with not having to pay for a landline with it.

    worst ISP I have been

    THE GOOD:

    some days its good.

    THE BAD:

Their equipment does not work yet we have to pay for someone to come fix it then they say its the router and we have to pay to replace it . We have a contract for 24 months i expect a reasonable service for 24 months not just the first 12 months.

    THE BOTTOM LINE:

In the past 24 months on 4 separate occasions I have had to deal with their technical service team which takes around 30 - 45 mins to get hold of. On one occasion they sent a guy to come fix the broadband which cost me around $150; the guy later tells me there was nothing wrong even though the download speed was slow . On another occasion I had to put up with an hour and a half of testing then was told chorus would check the line. They came back saying nothing was wrong. Called the technical team again (was on hold for 30 mins) they did a speed test and the download speed was at 1 Mb/s (we used to get a speed of 12 Mb/s) then they said I have to replace their router for $200 because we have had the router for more than 12 months. Its their equipment! i have a 24 month contract; I expect a reasonable service and their equipment to work for the full 24 months not just for the first 12 months. Rip off!

    REVIEW:

    THE GOOD:

Not much really, I did try to think of an area where they had done well. I encountered one guy who tried really hard to fix an array of problems, but if I hadn't insisted.....

    THE BAD:

They really seem to have too many problems in many areas, many of them old enough to have been fixed a new times by now. Their badly designed and slow website is a big frustration, as is thier very poor customer service - with LONG waits in phone queues.

    THE BOTTOM LINE:

I cant wait for my contract to be up so that I can switch away from Vodafone.
    1. My broadband speed dropped nearly 1Mb/s after a line fault - vodafone say there is nothing they can do - but still tried to charge me for that. My next door beighbour is still ok at 1Mb/s faster than me.
    2. Frequent errors in my invoices - I have to check it every month now, I estimate 1 in 3 invoices have errors.
    3. One of the least user-friendly websites in NZ. Also one of the slowest.
    4. Customer service poor. Waiting time on the help lines is ALWAYS very long, a few times I got cut off after waiting more than 5 mins.

They always seem to have this 'we're doing you a favour but I dont really feel like it' attitude.

Just not worth the many small but significant hassles.

    REVIEW:

I frequently rant at length about just how rubbish Vodafone are and how deeply and sincerely I detest them, and people say "Oh, why don't you go to Telecom?" to which I reply (in the Exorcist Voice) "BECAUSE I HATE TELECOM EVEN MORE". Lowest ever service call answer time: 5 April Sun In Cubas Longest service call answer time: Enough to endanger Anika Moa Time to resolve serverside failure: 6 days Number of faults at my end: 0 Number of times I've been dragged through a check of "the 17 things to check at your end while you know damn well the fault is at Vodafone's end" : 17 Number of mysterious disappearances of connectivity, including inability to ping www.google.com from the CMD prompt: Lost count when the total was somewhere between 100 and 200. Profit margin of average NZ ISP: 38% (!!!) Profit margin of average Aus ISP: 28% (!) Profit Margin beyond which you know for sure something is illegal, immoral or just plain bent: 10% No wonder they've lost nearly 100000 customers in the last six months alone. Tragically whoever they lost them to is probably as bad if not worse. Unfortunately this nationwide rort on communications is extremely profitable for a tiny handful of rich businessmen, so I don't expect the govt to do anything democratic about it any time soon. The worst bit is I get laughed at about it on the Net by kids in 3rd-world countries. Really, NZ? Realllly??
