I paid eXTRA to avoid a contract with this company.

I was warned about using Telecom as an ISP: "They will mess up your first bill" I was told. This disturbingly accurate prediction became manifested the first month. After waiting 10 minutes to talk with a representative, I was told there would be a $190.00 early cancellation fee. I paid eXTRA to avoid a contract with this company. "Everything has gone wrong with your account" I was told. The representative added "I can see there is no contract with this account". I am being told that it will be d/c'ed in 24 hours. I hope they correct my bill. TELECOM Not just bad, Accurately predicted to be bad - -a month in advance.

Have been with Telecom since the internet was invented and have no cause to complain. Haven't had to call Telecom support once over the years, no problems that I couldn't solve myself. Switch from dial up to broadband some years ago was easy. Very little downtime at all.

Recently changed over to xtra from Xnet. I hadnt used them in a few years and when I last had I had major speed problems and could never get through to anyone on the phone (without a VERY long wait) if I needed to. Thompson Modem I had then had issues. Anyway, switched back over to xtra a couple of months ago, I'm not using a thompson modem, even though they provided one for me free of charge. I'm happy to report that download speeds are good - even in peak hours, customer service is good, no drop offs yet and the price is good - in their package deals at least. Video online is quick and smooth, gaming internationally no problems, can browse web pages easily while downloading at 700kB/s. A big improvement over what they used to be like and what my previous provider was like. I'd recommend them now (and I never thought i'd say that) - though I still hear nothing but bad things about the Thompson modems so I'd probably recommend to steer clear of them.

Excellent service, good speed. On speedtest the download speed is 16 Mbps and upload speed is 1 Mbps. But expecting higher speed.

Over it and looking to move.

Totally over internet drop out. Spent about an hour+ on the phone with call center once and they made me rotate all three splitters. Did this, have even replaced the splitters and it still drops out. Over it and looking to move. Think its the thompson wireless but Telecom don't seem to care so ...

Excellent service. No dropouts . The latter often happen because of poor domestic modems. Changing them based on reviews can make a big difference to conections

Reasonable speeds but drops connection occassionally for no reason. Takes several reboots to reconnect. Calls to helpdesk take 15-30 minutes to get answered.

Currently with Telecom. No problems and good support. No complaints.

Telecom has reasonable speeds in my area (South Auckland). One thing that I don't like is the price they offer.
