We moved into a house 3 months ago and still do not...

    THE BAD:

Each time we do ring we have to wait at least 30 minutes until we get someone, usually a Filipino who does not understand anything.

    THE BOTTOM LINE:

They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Rude and unhelpful.

    REVIEW:

We moved into a house 3 months ago and still do not have internet. We couldn't sign up because they put an apostrophe in-between my double barreled last name, the man did not understand english. They did not tell me of this issue until I rang wondering where my modem was. The sent us the wrong modem after we asked for wireless. It would not connect anyway. Then they sent us a bill, we had not used any of the internet and tried to charge us for the two modems. The internet did still not work, they sent a man who came and left without doing or saying anything. We are yet to ring and try get out of this. Each time we do ring we have to wait at least 30 minutes until we get someone, usually a Filipino who does not understand anything. We have spent hours on the phone to these people and they have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Rude and unhelpful.

All I can say is that all the reviews that I have read are just the same horrid trouble we have gone thru. Someone needs to sort bunch out.

Never had any problems with telstra...

    THE GOOD:

1000 times better than Telecom or anyother NZ ISP.

    REVIEW:

Never had any problems with telstra..Since the ADSL2+ upgrade have got speeds over 15Meg consistently. Even in the ADSL1 days never had a problem. Don't get the negative feedback about telstra. 1000 times better than Telecom or anyother NZ ISP. Sounds more like user error to me. Maybe you are not ready for "Internet". And no i'm not on telstra's payroll.

Been with Telstraclear for four years now...

    THE GOOD:

Rock solid connection uptime, great speeds (often over 15Mb down).

    THE BAD:

Only downsides are the charges for exceeding data usage are quite high, and customer support is outsourced.

    THE BOTTOM LINE:

    Wouldn't consider changing.

    REVIEW:

Been with Telstraclear for four years now, and wouldn't consider changing. Rock solid connection uptime, great speeds (often over 15Mb down on my Cable connection in Christchurch), and pretty good value for their data charges. Only downsides are the charges for exceeding data usage are quite high, and customer support is outsourced. However on the rare times I've had to deal with them they've been polite, professional and had the ability to actually solve the issue I'd rung up to get sorted.

I've never had any problems with Telstraclear...

    THE GOOD:

Always seem to get good speeds and never had an outage that I'm aware of. They even increased my data cap from 30MB to 40MB for free.

    THE BOTTOM LINE:

I guess you don't hear from the people that are happy with the service so thought I'd let people know my experience.

    REVIEW:

I've never had any problems with Telstraclear and have been with them for a year. During that time we moved house and they handled the move quickly and efficiently. Always seem to get good speeds and never had an outage that I'm aware of. They even increased my data cap from 30MB to 40MB for free (free upgrade for all their customers). Other than moving house I haven't had to contact their support people so I don't really know if they're any good or not (the house moving was handled by filling in a form on their website). It seems that a lot of the comments here are by people that have run into problems, which is unfortunate, but I guess you don't hear from the people that are happy with the service so thought I'd let people know my experience.

    I do not recommend Telstraclear

    THE BAD:

I was notified in December 2011 that the customer service person I had given my credit card details in the Philippines was fraudulent.

    THE BOTTOM LINE:

At any rate other companies have much better deals going.

    REVIEW:

I do not recommend Telstraclear. I was notified in December 2011 that the customer service person I had given my credit card details in the Philippines was fraudulent. I had to cancel my credit card etc over the Christmas period. To their credit they gave me one month's free phone service for the inconvenience. However I didn;t want to give any bank or credit card details to anyone overseas again and they wouldn't put me through to anyone in NZ. I ended up re registering details with a customer service person in Australia. There must have been a miscommunication between Telstraclear and my bank at the first resumed payment, and now I have been charged late fees every month for the last 3 months despite all the ongoing bills being paid well on time. They refuse to waive the late fees. I have laid a complaint and I am changing company. It is poor show to employ workers in overseas country no doubt due to the lower wages. Pay people a living wage and they don;t need to be fraudulent. At any rate other companies have much better deals going.

    Unfortunately the worst service company...

    THE BAD:

Staff is 80% incompetent and just reconnect you to another department.

    THE BOTTOM LINE:

Bill is undecipherable and they sneak in stuff like a line-charge, a so-called insurance for your line.

    REVIEW:

Unfortunately the worst service company I've ever encountered. I got lured in by an attractive price and had technical problems to start with and still have very slow speed. For that I have been with Telstra for less than a month I had to call them up numerous times and spent hours if not weeks in the loop. Staff is 80% incompetent and just reconnect you to another department which makes you wait for another hour. Definitely their call centre is offshore which with bad line connection and foreign accents make communication merely impossible. Bill is undecipherable and they sneak in stuff like a line-charge, a so-called insurance for your line. My welcome pack took about a month and several phone calls to be delivered.

    REVIEW:

2 months and im still waiting for telstraclear to cancel my account with them. 2 months and im still waiting for the modem that was supposed to be sent with my new account, 2 months and im still waiting for a person to contact me about all of the above. and i am over trying to contact someone about it all by phone - becuase of the huge wait times due to overloading of phone calls, probably by unhappy customers such as myself
