    I'm with Compass - worst thing I ever did...

    THE BOTTOM LINE:

    I'll be getting in touch with the Commerce Commission.

    REVIEW:

    I'm with Compass - worst thing I ever did was change. They said they were the wholesale part of Telecom and could offer twice the broadband for half the price. What sold the deal for me was the fact that they said they were part of Telecom. Now I'd happily change back. Every week I have a couple of days when I can't reach the blogs I follow or websites that interest me. I haven't tried to contact them and after reading the above comments I don't think I'll bother. If they're not part of T'com I have good grounds for breaking the contract since they used deception to hook me in. I'll be getting in touch with the Commerce Commission.

    What ever you do DO NOT JOIN THIS COMPANY!!!

    the day our two year contract ends we are changing companies!!

    REVIEW:

    What ever you do DO NOT JOIN THIS COMPANY!!! We have had endless problems, it took them over a week to connect our phone, and over 6 weeks to connect their internet while trying to run a business from home. What made it worst was that we had to call them at least 10 TIMES take up to an hour to answer and then they expected us to pay for internet for when they weren't even providing it and $170 for Chorus to come out after the internet had been connected (because Compass didnt tell Chorus it had been connected) so they were only there for 10min and it is their responsibility to connect us up and did not tell us it would be an extra cost. We disputed the amount and they cut off our phone and internet, we have got it reconnected temporarily but have not decided what do about and it is still in dispute any suggestions?? and the day our two year contract ends we are changing companies!!

    TERRIBLE SERVICE. NOT AT ALL IMPRESSED.

    REVIEW:

    Terrible service. I received a phone call from a salesperson who convinced me to change. I was told that they would take care of any disconnection charges I might face from Telecom. I received a welcome letter a few days later which didn't mention any thing about the disconnection fees. It didn't include any information about the services or package I had signed up for and my user name had my name spelt incorrectly. I have rung them five times over 2 days to try to discuss the above matters. The first time I spoke to someone they told me that my phoneline had already been switched over. I rang telecom and they said that wasn't correct. I have been trying to contact someone at Compass to cancel the connection but they keep saying someone will call me back. In the meantime, the connection actually has gone through. Now their call centre says to ring back on Monday. TERRIBLE SERVICE. NOT AT ALL IMPRESSED. I am going to switch back to Telecom and no way will I be paying any disconnection fee to Compass

    They have the worst customer service

    would most definitely not recommend them to anyone!!!!

    REVIEW:

    We took a deal with compass, as they had competitive rates especially as most of our family live in South Africa. But when we called our family, there was no dialing tone, and nothing on the other end. When we got our bill, we say that they had charged us for all the calls that did not go through! Now they tell us that the calls were valid, and we need to pay! WTF Why would we call South Africa 10times in a row for one minute? They have the worst customer service and would most definitely not recommend them to anyone!!!! Seriously!

    I left Compass in disgust at their appalling lack...

    REVIEW:

    I left Compass in disgust at their appalling lack of service and went back to telecom. Now Compass continue to send me demands for payment up to 20 June 2011. stating that there is a 30 day cancellation policy. I have written three letters so far, disputing these additional charges, but no luck. I will write another letter, and will also enclosed a print out of all the above comments.

    I wouldn't go near Compass with a bargepole again!

    Just want to break contract as we are tearing our hair out with Compass.

    REVIEW:

    I wouldn't go near Compass with a bargepole again! - We have had wireless broadband and have been without any service for a number of days each month. Customer service is awful eg 51 mins wait on one occasion; yesterday I optef for them to keep my place in the queue and ring me back. Haven't heard since. Feel sorry for the people still hanging on 36 hours later. The only way they take complaints is via email. The say they will respond within 3 days but it took 9 days to get back to me (after 2 reminder emails and a phone call). They still haven't responded properly. Just want to break contract as we are tearing our hair out with Compass.

    WISH I HAD CHECKED THIS BEFORE EVEN TALKING TO THIS COMPANY. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH A POOR SERVICE FROM A NZ COMPANY. AFTER 3 DAYS STILL NO VOICEMAIL OR INTERNET SERVICE AND AM GOING BACK TO TELECOM WITH THE LIKELYHOOD I WILL LOSE MY PHONE NUMBER - THIS COMPANY MISREPRESENTS EVERYTHING - AVOID AT ALL COSTS, NO MONTHLY SAVING IS WORTH IT!!

    Beware: Compass communications and slingshot are not part of the TDR membership (Helps with claims/disputes etc).

    REVIEW:

    Do not join compass, they are crap!!! Was rung up and offered a deal through compass. After i had joined my bills were huge and not anything like they promised. They said that there was not evidence that i was offered a deal and they only had recorded the part where i had agreed to connect to their service. I was stuck with them for a year. In this time I could never get hold of them. Left on hold for over an hour, left messages numerous times with no reply and sent a dozen emails with no reply. Once my 12 months contract was up i decided to cancel my membership and a week later i get a bill for the next month service. They explained that they need at least 1 month notice (No mention of this when i joined or cancelled). I refused to pay and they sent me to baycorp for $40. Sent a letter to fair go, but because it was a small amount they said it was best to pay. Beware: Compass communications and slingshot are not part of the TDR membership (Helps with claims/disputes etc). You have to wonder why......Hope this help anyone who is considering changing to them. My recommendation- DONT!

    REVIEW:

    Atrocious service. 18 days without internet or phone. No adjustment to my monthly bill. No reply to snailmail complaints. Impossible to talk to anyone. Long hours on costly cell-phone waiting for human voice while bombarded with musac. Ad nauseum recorded voice repeatedly thanking me for my patience! Day after day the same voice tells me they are giving the matter top priority!. Avoid this company like the plague.
