    I have been with Compass wireless for just over 2 years

    THE GOOD:

    very helpful tech support people

    THE BAD:

    they never call you back if you leave the answerphone message and there is no support over the weekend

    REVIEW:

    I have been with Compass wireless for just over 2 years and have to say if you think their service is rubbish now, it's brilliant compared to what it was back then!! I was on the winning end though because after trying to telling them twice they had undercharged me for connection, I gave up and took it as a bonus. It's true they never call you back if you leave the answerphone message and there is no support over the weekend, but I have had some very helpful tech support people and outage is minimal here in Chch, except at times during quake seasons. I can't comment on speed as have no comparison. Value seems ok although I was promised more competitive pricing was in the pipeline 2 months ago and I'm still waiting to actually believe that, which is why I ended up at this site looking for reviews on competitors!

    THE BOTTOM LINE:

    Wish I had ever changed companies...

    I have recently joined up to this company rang them more in 3 months than I have ever rang telecom in 13 years and having to wait for long times for customer service. Waiting for a month for a modem to be sent out to me after going on a 12 contract to receive a free one. Now getting sent text messages telling me out of stock and suggesting I go and buy one myself which defeats the purpose of me signing onto a contract. Wish I had ever changed companies surely a NZ owned company could do better than this.

    REVIEW:

    Extremely disappointed with compass. Costs very high. Refusal to send written accounts. Now they are trying to charge a late fee on a late fee that I am disputing, Always have to wait for long periods when trying to speak with them. Impossible to contact when internet slows down. No, not for us from here on in.

    I agree totally with all the negative comments posted..

    THE BAD:

    The average "help" desk response is at least 40 mins. They never answer emails.

    I agree totally with all the negative comments posted to date. They should be re-rated to 0/5. My Internet service was lost over 10 months ago after Compass suffered a serious data loss and were unable to recover the account details of many customers. I was informed of this by one of their contract service technicians who visited to get my connection working again (but never succeeded). Trying to solve the problem was a nightmare! They NEVER call back, after placing you on hold and inviting you to leave a call back number. The average "help" desk response is at least 40 mins. They never answer emails. They have high staff turn-over and minimal technical staff who. Accounts administration is a mess and they seem to be snowed under with upset customers. I changed to another ISP who resells the Compass wireless sevice and have had few problems since.

    I live in the rural country and we use "Compass Wireless", it should be "Compass Useless". I agree with most reviews here, their customer services is terrible. I have been stuck with them for 4 years now....would leave tomorrow if I could find another provider. We have outages nearly daily, we had a 3 week outage at one point, and they promised a credit that never arrived. The only thing they are good at is getting their bills and reminder letters out. They send reminders before they send bills....RURAL BROADBAND please hurry. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

    Harry & Gee sound a lot like they work for compass.

    Harry & Gee sound a lot like they work for compass. I was with Compass for 5 months, I hated every second of it. Customer service is crap, connection is slow as when I watch youtube (9bps in some point). Hope you see all these review before you consider signing up with them.

    I am very happy with their service n prices.

    Hi. I have been with compass for 4 months now n I am very happy with their service n prices. Their toll calling prices n broadband deals r pretty good too. People working at Compass are helpful every time I have a query. Any one wanting internet/home line/tolls at a low rate, I purely recommend compass. I am not sure y many of the other blokes had issues. The ones who did have issues probably did not ask too many questions before joining. Before jumping in to things, make sure u clarify each n everything. I understood all d details before joining Compass and now that I am a Compass customer, I am very happy with the services.

    Hey guys... i Dont agree with the above comments but its happens with all the big brands in nz. their plans are awesome...as far as my experience is concern this is one of the best telecommunication company in Nz. their customer service is fine and technical support team is also ok. i think you should try compass once its good company.
