Compass offers three ADSL and VDSL broadband plans. All of their plans offer unlimited data. Their plans have maximum download and upload speeds. Meaning your download and upload speeds will be the fastest possible. Internet speeds will depend on several factors. These include your distance from the exchange, the condition of your copper wiring, noise on the copper line and line attenuation.
Choose between an open term, 12 month or 24 month contract.
You will require a ADSL or VDSL capable router to use Compass broadband

Didn’t even get an active DSL line after 10 days of lies. They are impossible to get hold of and don’t know what they are talking about when, or if you ever do get through. DON’T BOTHER!!!

I would avoid this broadband provider. They fail to deliver quality broadband like Slingshot, Orcon or even Telecom. Would probably choose Slingshot or Snap over this company. Terrible service, can’t directly call them from a cellphone and they don’t know what they’re talking about when you do. Logging on to “my compass” doesn’t show you anything apart from your invoices, according to the details on their I have no broadband connection with them, can’t check data usage either.

These guys are crap, i am on mammoth and get download of 1.5mbs to 5.6mbs, router say can go to 9.6mbs, had chorus check and they said is nothing wrong with lines, and should be able to connect at 7.5mbs (they tested), and said your ISP is probably full of crap, i agree my last ISP as this address (and i thought they were crap was(Slingshot) was 11mbs.. Yup their cheap, they customer service is CRAP, their speed is CRAP. considering going back to Slingshot.. I have 2 modems, both connect at same speed, and both worked fine on slingshot at higher speed, i can only assume compass is crap, and throttle the speed (which they deny on site, but tell you when on the phone), I bitched yesterday i dropped to 1.5mbs and the guy said they would reset my line, funny enough after 6 hrs my end trying to see if it was me, 30 mins later i was 7.5mbs.. today is 1.5mbs. Have been with Compass unbundled ADSL for 6 months now and loving it. The speeds are a lot better than what I had with Telecom, I am picking that compass ADSL is less congested. Any way I would suggest Compass to any one.

I just found this site and thought Id add my experience. I have never struck a kiwi company like this. I’m ashamed of them. They have completely ignored my efforts to resolve charges they now demand. NO response they just resent bills, added penalties, stopped doing that then referred it to a collection company. This is extortion. They could charge me whatever they want and I will have to pay it if I want to protect my credit rating…and they have. Im back with Telecom..Feels great. If you read this and the others and sign up your a “Bloody Idiot”

Its been 6 months i m using compass unlimited broadband plan. its good so far i dont have any problems. its less expensive then any other provider.

Absolutely poor service. Technical problems from the day it was connected and we still haven’t got the connection back. If we any other choice we would have changed to another provider.

Put quite simply, worst experience you can have regarding customer service, and the internet is unreliable and slow. Most of the time our mammoth plan goes slower than dial up, you have to wait 10mins to load up a 2min youtube video in 240p, absolutely ridiculous. Now we have got an extra charge of $130 for no reason at all, on top of the normal bill. And we have had a few instances over the last 6 months or so (after it taking over a month to actually get connected) that the internet stops working. This takes them anywhere between 2 to 4 weeks to fix, while the customer service team is just telling me for 15mins straight to just switch off my modem and then turn it back on. The customer service is by far the worst I have ever experienced, never even consider joining up with this company, there is not a single thing good about them!

TERRIBLE speeds on the Mammoth plan at night, unable to watch Youtube or do anything, speed drops by 90% between 6pm and 2am most nights, had a support request in with their totally useless customer support team for over a month now, no change, they never contact me to tell me what is happening I always am the one having to call them. Managers are NEVER available to talk too, doesn’t matter what time of day or night you call, they are always “away from the office at the moment”. The worst service I have ever had from any company. If the internet speed was constant – like they promised it would be “It may drop around 10% at most” I was told, well if that was the case then I would be happy. But it isn’t, and I am not happy.
